when I drive home for december break
I drive through my home town
the river is iced-over and the leaves are cold and brown
the sidewalks are flanked with dirty snow
and the filthy cars on the side of the road
I flip through the crummy stations on the radio
I don’t know why but it makes me think of you
afraid of a bleak future
and nothing left to lose
terrified, I convince myself I’ve something left to prove
I don’t know if I’ll be coming back to school
when I drive home for december break
I miss our punk rock bands
banging on the drums we were the greatest punk rock fans
our friends have left and moved away
there’s no one left to hear me say that
rock will last forever in my mind
but somehow it always makes me think of you
afraid of a bleak future and nothing left to lose
terrified, i convince myself I have something left to prove
I don’t know if I’ll be coming back to school
I don’t know if I’ll be coming back to school
I don’t know if I’ll be coming back to school
